UPPER EYELID CORRECTION
After the procedure you will look younger and less tired
We are all getting older and with the years the upper eyelids can hang. The excess skin that develops affects your vision, but can also make you look older and more tired than you actually are. If you suffer from this, we can perform an eyelid correction. This is a surgical procedure that can be combined with a correction of the lower eyelid. An upper eyelid correction is usually performed under local anesthesia. You can return home shortly after the procedure.
During a personal consultation with the surgeon, we look at the upper eyelids, the eye sockets and the position of the eyebrows. The aim of the treatment is to remove the excess skin so that you receive good vision again and look less tired. This allows you to take a fresh look back into the world.
UPPER EYELID CORRECTION
With aging the skin of the upper eyelid can become droopy, which is referred to as “blepharochalasis”. When the skin touches the eyelashes or hangs over them the field of vision will become impaired. The excess skin also will give an aged and tired appearance. This can be aggravated by any descent of the forehead and eyebrows. Furthermore, orbital fat may protrude forward creating a bulge above the eyelid. An upper eyelid correction can be performed with plastic surgery and this is referred to as a “blepharoplasty”. An upper eyelid correction can be performed at the same time as a lower eyelid correction.
